Due to increased legislation on medicines many pharmaceutical companies have consolidated over the years to be able to finance future R&D efforts. Participating in open and co-innovative initiatives has become common practice. Large multinational companies work closely together with small entrepreneurial SME’s to fill the pipeline of future innovations. Should we embrace the pharma model to facilitate innovation in the food industry?
